Impact Africa Summit: Ghana 2017

The maiden edition of the Impact Africa Summit: Ghana came off successfully at the plush Tang Palace Hotel in Accra on Thursday July 7, 2016.

The summit brought together key government officials, senior diplomats, academia, top local and international business executives, civil society and the media to share ideas on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Ghana.

Six distinguished personalities (described by the Summit Council as the “New African Personality”) from different fields, were honored and awarded for their impact and contributions to the socio - economic development agenda of the country in various fields. The summit presented the much awaited avenue for these prominent group of leaders in Ghana, to display a deep and a broad commitment to the Global Goals.

The groundbreaking speeches, discussions and comments by the Speakers, Laureates and Participants pointed to the fact that; social progress and economic growth of Ghana and the African continent should be a shared responsibility; built on PARTNERSHIPS.

Hence, the 2017 Impact Africa Summit: Ghana would among others, explore meaningful avenues, opportunities and strategies for partnerships to well position Ghana and the continent in the realization of the SDGs.

The summit would also spearhead discussions on the possibility and options in directing Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) as a source of financing the SDGs in Ghana as well as the prospects of Goal 3 for the country’s health sector.

Additionally, five distinguished personalities would be honored and celebrated for their contributions to the development agenda of the country and continent.
